Jeanty named first team and Casey tabbed second team

BOISE, Idaho – For the first time in program history, two Boise State Broncos earned Walter Camp All-America honors, as the organization placed running back Ashton Jeanty on the first team and offensive lineman Kage Casey on the second team. They are the first Bronco offensive players to garner recognition since current co-offensive coordinator Nate Potter, who was a Consensus All-American as an offensive lineman in 2011.

Jeanty was the nation's top running back this season, leading the country in attempts (344) and yards (2,497) while tying for the lead in touchdowns (29). He set College Football Playoff-era records for yards after contact (1,889) and missed tackles forced (143). He eclipsed 200 rushing yards in six different games, tying Rashaad Penny (San Diego State, 2017) for the most in a season since at least 2000.

Jeanty set Boise State career rushing records for yards (4,665), 200-yard games (8) and 100-yard games (21). His season averages of 7.3 rushing yards per carry, 192.1 rushing yards per game and 201.0 all-purpose yards per game are currently school
records, as are his career rushing averages of 6.5 yards per carry and 119.6 yards per game.

A key component of Jeanty's success was the play of Casey. The redshirt sophomore has a Pro Football Focus overall grade of 87.2, second-highest among FBS left tackles who played at least 600 snaps. He played a team-high 867 offensive snaps white allowing zero sacks and one quarterback hit.

As a unit, Boise State ranked fourth in the country in scoring offense (39.1 ppg), sixth in rushing offense (250.5 ypg), sixth in total offense (470.2 ypg) and ninth in 3rd down conversion rate (49.4%). The Broncos allowed 0.92 sacks per game, 10th-fewest in the nation.

This is the second-consecutive year Jeanty and Casey have secured All-America honors. Last season, Jeanty was recognized by the Action Network, Associated Press, CBS Sports, College Football Network, ESPN and USA Today. Casey was named Freshman All-America by The Athletic.
