Doak Walker Award winner has nine first team All-America honors this season

BOISE, Idaho – Ashton Jeanty earned another All-America honor, garnering inclusion on the Football Writers Association of America first team. This is the ninth organization to recognize the Maxwell Award winner as a first team All-American. He has also been recognized by the AFCA, AP, CBS Sports, Sports Illustrated, PFF, The Athletic, USA Today and Walter Camp.

Jeanty leads all FBS running backs in rushing attempts (344), yards (2,497) and touchdowns (29) while leading the nation in all-purpose yards (2,613) and total touchdowns (30). He averages over 100 yards per first half and 100 yards per second half, eclipsing the century mark in 17 of the 24 halves he played.

The team captain has registered an FBS-record 143 forced missed tackles. He has also tallied 1,889 yards after contact, more than any individual's season rushing total since 2019. Jeanty has rushed against a 7+ man box 266 times, recording 1,829 yards and 25 touchdowns in those attempts.

The junior's big-play potential has been on display all season, tallying five touchdowns of 70+ yards, the most since LaDanian Tomlinson (TCU, 1999). He has more 50+ yard gains (12) and 60+ yard gains (10) than any FBS team this season. Jeanty has more gains of 20+ yards (24) than rushes for loss (23).

The last Bronco to earn an All-America honor from the FWAA was kick returner Avery Williams, who was a first team selection in 2020. Co-offensive coordinator Nate Potter was the last offensive player to earn an honor for Boise State, garnering first team recognition as an offensive lineman in 2011.
