
Teal Matsueda Named Mountain West Freshman of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State women's golfer Teal Matsueda was named Mountain West Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Thursday.
Matsueda tied for sixth at Boise State's tri-match against Long Beach State and UC Riverside, firing a 144 to finish at +2. She carded a 67 (-3) in the second round, tied for the lowest single-round score at the event. This also tied the best round of her career. Matsueda recorded five birdies in the second round, tied for the most in the field. She was one of four players with no double or triple bogeys, helping the Broncos finish +4 and defeat UC Riverside.
This is the first career MW honor for Matsueda, who is a native of Kaimuki, Hawai'i. The Broncos return to action March 7-9, competing at the Pizza-Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational in St. George, Utah.
