BOISE, Idaho – Max Eiden was born under a lucky star. All through his high school days, sports have been his hobby – sports of all kinds – and now, right after finishing his work at the University of Idaho, he is appointed athletic coach at the Boise Junior College, in his hometown.

Max finished high school with the class of 1929; during his four years he took active part in football and in the R.O.T.C. He entered the university the following fall but was obliged to remain out for two semesters, graduating this past June. He worked part of the time all through his college course, at any jobs he could get, serving as life guard and swimming instructor in the Moscow pool this past year. He learned to swim as a lad in the old Ridenbaugh canal, which was near his home.

At college he specialized in business administration and physical education. His last year he was assistant athletic coach for the freshman football squad. So well did he do his work that it was upon the recommendation of Leo Calland, head man of U. of I. athletics, that the Boise Junior College board engaged him. His college is looking to Max to dig up a strong football team to send on the university.

Young Eiden continued his military training at the university also, and is now a second lieutenant in the reserve corps. He was a member of the "I" Club and president one year. He is also a member of the "Blue Key" national upper class fraternity the members of which must be outstanding in leadership in campus activities, scholarship and personality.
