Boise State’s 15 Selections on Preseason All-MW/Pac-2 Teams Leads All Programs
BOISE, Idaho – More preseason accolades came Boise State's way Tuesday as a trio of Broncos received All-America distinctions in the Phil Steele 2024 Preseason All-America team release. Additionally, Boise State led all programs with 15 selections on Phil Steele's Preseason All-Mountain West/Pac-2 Teams.
Â
Garnering Preseason All-America honors were Ashton Jeanty (Second Team), James Ferguson-Reynolds (Third Team) and Ahmed Hassanein (Fourth Team).
Â
The three Preseason All-America selections are the most of any non-P4 team and ranks eighth nationally overall. Only Alabama (6), Georgia (7), Miami [Fla.] (5), Michigan (4), Notre Dame (4), Ohio State (7) and Oklahoma State (4) received more All-America selections on the Phil Steele teams than Boise State.
Â
Oregon, a team the Broncos will face in Eugene, Oregon on Sept. 7, received three selections overall with two first team picks and one third team pick. UNLV (2) and Utah State (1) are the other 2024 Bronco opponents that received preseason all-America honors.
Â
Boise State (3), Maimi [Ohio] (2) and UNLV (2) were the only non-P4 teams with multiple Preseason All-America selections by Phil Steele. The Mountain West, with seven selections overall, received the most picks of any non-P4 league and ranked fifth overall, behind the SEC (33), Big Ten (26), ACC (21) and Big 12 (19).
Â
This season Phil Steele combined the Mountain West and Pac-2 into one set of preseason teams and the Broncos led that group with 15 selections overall, followed by UNLV (14), Colorado State (12) and Fresno State (12). UNLV led the way with seven first team selections while the Broncos received six.

COMING TO ALBERTSONS STADIUM THIS FALL
Boise State has one of the most appealing home schedules in school history this fall, with home games set against Portland State (Sept. 21), Washington state (Sept. 28), Utah State (Oct. 5), San Diego State (Nov. 1), Nevada (Nov. 9) and Oregon State (Nov. 29).
Â
Led by Spencer Danielson in his first full season, Boise State looks to become the first Mountain West program to win back-to-back championships since San Diego State did so in 2015-16. Achieving such a feat will put Boise State in the discussion for the new, expanded, 12-team College Football Playoff format beginning this fall. Last year, Danielson became the first coach in college football history to win a conference championship with an interim title.
