
Hassanein, McCoy Named to East-West Shrine Bowl 1000

TAMPA, Fla. – Boise State defensive standouts Ahmed Hassanein and A'Marion McCoy have been selected to the 2025 East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 Watchlist, the organization announced, Wednesday.
Hassanein was selected Phil Steele Preseason All-America Fourth Team and Mountain West Preseason Co-Defensive Player of the Year after a breakout 2023 campaign. The defensive end recorded 12.5 sacks, ranking second in the MW and sixth in the country. His streak of nine-straight games with at least 0.5 sacks was the longest in the FBS since 2015. The senior also garnered All-MW First Team and College Sports Commmunicators Academic All-America Second Team honors.
McCoy earned Preseason All-MW honors after a 2023 season that featured a team-high three interceptions, as well as six pass breakups and one sack. The cornerback was tabbed All-MW Honorable Mention in his first season as a Bronco. In June, the senior was named Preseason All-MW First Team by Athlon Sports and Preseason All-MW Second Team by Phil Steele.
The 100th edition of the East-West Shrine Bowl will be played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on January 30, 2025. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. MT and the game will air nationally on NFL Network. The event is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the best college football players in the world to showcase their talents as top NFL Draft prospects in front of all 32 NFL teams' scouts and executives.
