Caples Recognized on Comeback Player of the Year Watch List

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State wide receiver Latrell Caples earned a spot on the 2024 Comeback Player of the Year watch list, the College Sports Communicators announced in association with the Associated Press and the Fiesta Bowl Organization.
Caples missed the entire 2023 season due to injury but is poised to return to The Blue in 2024. The redshirt senior led the Broncos in receptions (51) and receiving yards (549) in 2022 and tied for the team-high with four touchdown catches. He collected 260 yards after the catch, also a team-best. He gained a first down on 28 of his 51 catches.
In 2022, Caples snagged a pair of touchdowns at New Mexico and registered 80 receiving yards against BYU. Caples had a career-long 50-yard reception against Utah State and recorded a career-high 87 yards on six catches in the Frisco Bowl victory over North Texas. The Lancaster High School product appeared in six games in 2021, tallying four receptions for 56 yards as a redshirt freshman. The Texan was named 2024 Preseason All-Mountain West third team by Phil Steele and Athlon Sports.

While the season ticket packages, flex passes and mini-plans offer the best seats available, single-game tickets are still a great option to get out to see the Broncos on The Blue this fall. Led by Spencer Danielson in his first full season, Boise State looks to become the first Mountain West program to win back-to-back championships since San Diego State did so in 2015-16. Achieving such a feat will put Boise State in the discussion for the new, expanded, 12-team College Football Playoff format beginning this fall. Last year, Danielson became the first coach in college football history to win a conference championship with an interim title.
