
Jobes, Kiprotich Earn Conference Weekly Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Emily Jobes and Brian Kiprotich were named Mountain West Women's and Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

The two runners earned the honor for the first time in their careers following their performance at the Cougar Classic, Sept. 13.

Jobes, who competed in just her second cross country race in the Blue & Orange, finished third overall in the women's 6k. She ran a 20:18.9, finishing ahead of six runners from No. 25 Gonzaga.

Kiprotich led the charge for the Broncos in the men's 8k race, finishing second overall with a time of 23:37.8. His performance helped the team secure first place at the Cougar Classic, defeating host Washington State and nationally-ranked Gonzaga.

The Broncos will return to the course on Oct.4 in Notre Dame, Indiana, for the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational.
