BOISE, Idaho – The National Football Foundation announced the semifinalists for the 2024 William V. Campbell Trophy, with Boise State sixth year Alexander Teubner garnering inclusion on the list. The award recognizes an individual as the absolute best in the country for combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership.
Teubner is a team captain this season and has started all three games for the Broncos. He has 14 total tackles, including nine solo, and 1.5 tackles for loss. He has also forced a fumble and recovered a fumble, contributing to a Boise State defense that is tied for first in the nation in fumbles forced per game (2.33).
The Seaside High School product is a former walk-on and was named Mountain West Championship Defensive MVP in 2023. This season, he has been nominated for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team and named to the Wuerffel Trophy Preseason Watch List.
Teubner is a five-time MW Scholar-Athlete, four-time Academic All-MW selection and two-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection. In 2023, he received his bachelor's degree in finance. He regularly volunteers at schools and food drives in the Treasure Valley.

Led by Spencer Danielson in his first full season, Boise State looks to become the first Mountain West program to win back-to-back championships since San Diego State did so in 2015-16. Achieving such a feat will put Boise State in the discussion for the new, expanded, 12-team College Football Playoff format beginning this fall. Last year, Danielson became the first coach in college football history to win a conference championship with an interim title.
