Bronco Student-Athletes Continue to Shine in the Classroom

Third consecutive semester all 18 sport programs achieve 3.0 or higher-grade point average
BOISE, Idaho – Boise State student-athletes excelled in the classroom during the 2024 fall semester as they recorded the second-best single semester grade point average (GPA) in department history and combined to tie the highest all-department cumulative GPA, Boise State Athletics announced Wednesday. The cumulative mark stands at 3.42 and the fall semester checked in at 3.38. It is the 34th consecutive semester the department posted a term GPA of 3.0 or higher.
"Congratulations to our student-athletes for their outstanding achievement in the classroom and a heartfelt 'thank you' to the tireless efforts of our academic advisors, coaches and staff," said Jeramiah Dickey, Boise State Athletic Director. "We will continue to focus and nurture our culture that equips and empowers our student-athletes to excel both on and off the field."
A record 72 student-athletes logged a 4.0 GPA and 183 student-athletes (50 percent of all Boise State student-athletes) were named to the Dean's List in their respective colleges with a 3.5 GPA or better. The in-season football team placed 30 student-athletes on the Dean's List, one of the highest in-season accomplishments in department history.
Setting a fall-semester program best was women's basketball at 3.83. Achieving cumulative GPA program bests were men's basketball at 3.20, women's basketball at 3.80, and football at 3.20, who tied the record they set in spring 2024. The men's golf team secured the highest GPA in a decade at 3.55.
In December, 19 Boise State student-athletes earned their degrees, representing six different sport programs and the graduate assistant program.
Classes began for the spring semester on Monday, January 13.
