COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Boise State's Kaiya Robertson was named Mountain West Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, the conference announced, Tuesday.
The award marks Robertson's first Mountain West Athlete of the Week accolade. She is the first Bronco to garner a weekly honor since Emily Jobes and Brian Kiprotich on Sept. 17, 2024, following their performances at the Cougar Classic.
Robertson collected five points and placed fifth with a time of 16:08.9 in the Women's 5k Blue Division at the Joe Piane Invitational hosted by Notre Dame. She not only eclipsed her 2024 time of 16:15.1, but she set a personal best in the process.
Featuring 180 runners, Robertson concluded the race behind student-athletes from Notre Dame, Liberty, and South Carolina. She paced the Broncos, who totaled 108 points in the event.
Additionally, Boise State's women's team finished ahead of three Big Ten schools, two Big 12 Institutions, and two teams from the Mountain West.
The Broncos will travel to Princeton, New Jersey on Oct. 17 for the Princeton Fall Classic. The following day, a group of Broncos will make the trip to Independence, Oregon for the George Oja Invitational (hosted by Linfield) on Oct. 18.
