Bronco Women’s Team and Two Male Individuals Headed to NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS – Boise State's women's cross country team along with Meshack Kuyo and Alex Thompson from the men's cross country team were selected to the Championships, it was announced, Saturday.
 
The Boise State women were selected as an at-large team which will send them to Columbia, Mo., for the NCAA Championships, hosted by Missouri.
 
Kuyo was Boise State's top-male finisher at the NCAA West Regional, collecting a fourth-place finish with a time of 29:25.6 to earn a trip to the NCAA Championships.
 
Thompson also received a bid as an individual after clocking a time of 29:33.0 to claim 10th place at this year's NCAA West Regional.
 
This is the first NCAA championships appearance since the 2020 campaign.
 
Joe Hudson (2023) was the last Boise State man to qualify as an individual.
 
This season, the Boise State women registered six top-five finishes. Boise State's men's team claimed four finishes in the top three.
 
The NCAA Championships will take place on Nov. 22 at Gans Greek Cross Country Course. The event will be broadcast on ESPNU beginning at 9 a.m. MT.
 
The first four finishers within the top 25 at regionals who do not belong to an automatic qualifier or an at-large team automatically advance to the championships.
 
Thirty-six individuals automatically qualify and two are chosen at-large, making 38 the grand total. The two at-large selections are the highest placing individuals at a regional that were not automatic qualifiers.
