BOISE, Idaho – Former Boise State cornerback and return specialist Chris Carr will raise the Blue Chaos flag before the Broncos' final regular-season home game Saturday against Colorado State.

"It's an honor to raise the flag because Boise State is a prestigious football powerhouse," Carr said. "I am honored and very fortunate to have been able to play on The Blue — let alone to be chosen as someone who is worthy to represent the program in any capacity."

The Reno, Nevada, native was a four-year starter (2001-04) for the Blue and Orange, starring at cornerback and kick returner. Carr made an immediate impact, starting all 12 games as a freshman and recording 32 tackles. By the end of his four-year career, he accumulated 188 tackles, five interceptions and three punt return touchdowns.

Carr currently owns  the highest career yards-per-punt-return average in program history (19.8), holds the 10th-longest punt return for a touchdown (78 yards), and ranks second in career punt return touchdowns (three).

After his Boise State career, Carr signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent, primarily serving as a special teams returner. As a rookie, he played all 16 games and totaled 1,938 return yards. He finished his three-year stint with the Raiders as the franchise's all-time leader in kickoff return yardage (4,841) before signing with the Tennessee Titans in 2008. He spent five additional seasons in the NFL with the Ravens, Vikings, Chargers and Saints, finishing his professional career with 233 tackles, seven forced fumbles, seven interceptions and 7,349 return yards.

Following his athletic career, Carr earned his law degree from George Washington University, graduating in 2017. In 2019, he and his wife, Sarah, established the Chris and Sarah Carr Honors College Scholarship, which provides financial support to honors students at Boise State.

"Bronco Nation is great because it reflects the kind, down-to-earth nature of Boise residents and, like the city of Boise itself, has grown significantly in size and importance over the past 25 years," said Carr.

Carr will join the Bronco Tailgate Show at 3:35 p.m. MT before the game against the Rams. Fans can listen live on KBOI 93.1 FM, 670 AM and the Varsity Network, or watch in person in front of the Boise State Hall of Fame.
