BOISE, Idaho – Boise State quarterback Max Cutforth was tabbed Old Trapper Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced. The redshirt sophomore completed 26 passes for 341 yards and two touchdowns in the Broncos' 25-24 comeback victory over Utah State, which led to Boise State earning hosting duties for the MW Championship.

Making his third career start, Cutforth guided Boise State's offense to 512 total yards and a 13-for-24 (54.2%) success rate on third down. He threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Matt Wagner and a 66-yard scoring strike to Quinton Brown, finishing the weekend with the most passing yards among MW quarterbacks and seventh-most among FBS signal-callers.

A native of nearby Nampa, Idaho, Cutforth has led the Broncos to back-to-back wins while filling in for the injured Maddux Madsen. Boise State concluded the regular season at 8-4 overall and 6-2 in conference play, clinching the program's 28th straight winning season. The Broncos were one of four teams tied for first in the MW standings and earned a spot in the conference title game by averaging the second-highest ranking according to four unique computer metrics.

Boise State is up to eight conference honors this season, including three on offense. Running back Dylan Riley is the recipient of the other two. Defensively, cornerback Jeremiah Earby has been selected twice and linebacker Boen Phelps has been picked once. Running back Sire Gaines rounds out the group with a pair of Freshman of the Week awards.

The Broncos have seven total honors this year, with Dylan Riley (two-time Offensive Player of the Week) and Boen Phelps (Defensive Player of the Week) earning the other three. This is the first time in program history Boise State has three players win multiple awards in a season.

Boise State will host UNLV for the 2025 Mountain West Championship on Friday, Dec. 5. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. at Albertsons Stadium and the game will air nationally on FOX. This will be the Broncos' ninth appearance in the MW Championship Game, with the previous two also coming against the Rebels. Boise State looks to become the first program in conference history to win three straight conference championship games.
