Fans invited to bring unwrapped toys for annual toy drive and first teddy bear toss
BOISE, Idaho —Boise State Athletics will collect new, unwrapped toys at the men's game on December 10 and women's game on December 13. Toy collection bins will be located at the main entrances at ExtraMile Arena. For the first time during halftime of both games, fans will be invited to toss teddy bears onto the court. The teddy bears will be collected, cleaned, and donated to local charities.
"The toy drive began as a way for our team and Bronco Nation to come together in support of families right here in the Treasure Valley," said men's basketball head coach Leon Rice. "Seeing the impact it has had on our players, staff, and community over the past two years has been incredibly meaningful. We're excited to do it again this year."Â
The teams will deliver the toys and teddy bears to local charities and families in need prior to their departure home for the holidays.Â
