Broncos are 1 of 8 teams who will compete in premier annual tournament

BOISE, Idaho — Boise State will participate in the 2025 Maui Invitational Chaminade, the tournament announced on Thursday.

Taking place Nov. 24-26, 2025, the Maui Invitational will be held at the Lahaina Civic Center (Lahaina, Hawaii) and will feature eight teams from eight different conferences. Appearing in the tournament for the first time, Boise State will represent the Mountain West and will be joined by Arizona State (Big 12), Chaminade (Pacific West), NC State (ACC), Seton Hall (Big East), Texas (SEC), USC (Big 10) and Washington State (WCC).

Among participating teams, Boise State has played Washington State (9), Arizona State (1) and NC State (1) a combined 11 times. In program history, the Broncos have not gone head-to-head with Chaminade, Seton Hall, Texas and USC.

Since its inception in 1984, 143 schools have competed in the Maui Invitational. Crowning 25 different champions, Duke has won the tournament five times, representing the most of any participant.

Spanning 41 years, teams who have participated in the Maui Invitational own 73 of the 84 NCAA national championships. Seven schools who competed in the tournament went on to win the national championship that year, while five institutions have won the invitational and the national title in the same season.

Last year, Auburn defeated two top-10 opponents en route to winning the tournament. The Tigers beat No. 5 Iowa State (83-81) and No. 12 North Carolina (85-72) before collecting a 14-point victory (90-76) over Memphis in the championship.

Fans wishing to attend the 2025 Maui Invitational can purchase a travel package. Additional information will be released to the general public in the near future.
