Degenhart earns NABC first-team honors in back-to-back seasons

BOISE, Idaho — Boise State forward Tyson Degenhart has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Mountain District First Team, it was announced on Tuesday.

In a newly-revised model, the NABC Division I All-District Teams were arranged by state rather than conference. The alignment features 10 geographic regions that encompass multiple states.

Each district has a first and second team which consists of 20 total players (10 first team, 10 second team) and a coach of the year. Eight of the 20 players selected to the Mountain District competed in the Mountain West during the 2024-25 campaign.

Joining Degenhart from the Mountain West is Nique Clifford (Colorado State), Donovan Dent (New Mexico), Mason Falslev (Utah State), Nelly Junior Joseph (New Mexico) and Ian Martinez (Utah State). Additionally, Nick Davidson (Nevada) and Dedan Thomas Jr. (UNLV) earned spots on the second team.

Degenhart's first-team selection marks the second time he's garnered the distinction in his career. He was named to the NABC All-District 17 First Team a year ago.

Starting all 34 games for the Broncos this season, Degenhart posted averages of 17.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists. He shot 51.8 percent from the field while making nearly 80 percent of his free throw attempts.

One-of-18 players in NCAA Division I men's basketball to register at least 600 points and 200 rebounds, Degenhart and Clifford were the only players in the Mountain West to post those numbers. He totaled 13 20-point games and finished the season with the conference's third-highest points per game average (17.9).

Selected to the All-Mountain West first team for the third consecutive year, Degenhart became the second player (Jimmer Fredette — BYU, 2009-11) to accomplish the feat. With 1,971 career points, Degenhart is Boise State's all-time leading scorer, surpassing Tanoka Beard (1,944), who held the record for over 30 years.
