BOISE, Idaho – Boise State was voted 25th in the Associated Press Top 25 Preseason Poll, the organization announced. This is the first time the Broncos have been ranked in the preseason AP Poll since 2018, when they were selected 22nd. In the final AP Poll of the 2024 season, Boise State was tabbed No. 8, its first time in the top 10 since 2011, when the Broncos also finished eighth. Last week, they were also placed No. 25 in the US LBM Coaches Poll.

Boise State was voted the preseason Mountain West favorite, its 18th consecutive year topping the conference or division poll. Quarterback Maddux Madsen was named Preseason MW Offensive Player of the Year and was one of 10 Broncos to earn Preseason All-MW. That group includes offensive tackle Kage Casey and EDGE Jayden Virgin-Morgan, who have each earned Preseason All-America honors.

The Broncos finished with a 12-2 overall record in 2024, including a perfect 7-0 mark in conference play. They won the MW title for the second straight year and earned a bye in the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff, securing the No. 3 seed and a berth in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl.

Boise State kicks off the 2025 season at South Florida on Thursday, August 28. The game will start at 5:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. MT and air nationally on ESPN.
