Fely Selected to Polynesian Player of the Year Watch List

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State defensive lineman Braxton Fely was selected to the Polynesian College Player of the Year Watch List, the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame announced. The award is presented annually to the most outstanding college football player of Polynesian ancestry who exemplifies exceptional ability and integrity both on and off the field. The senior is one of 12 Mountain West student-athletes on the 81-player watch list, which features representatives from 40 FBS schools. In the last five seasons, the Broncos have been featured on the watch list 10 times.
Fely is a Preseason All-MW selection and was tabbed Preseason All-MW First Team by Athlon Sports and Phil Steele. Last season, he earned All-MW Second Team honors after totaling 24 tackles, 5.5 sacks and 9.0 tackles for loss. He led MW interior defensive linemen in sacks and tackles for loss, contributing to a unit that led the nation in sacks (55) and ranked third in TFLs per game (7.9). He has appeared in all 42 games during his Boise State career, tallying 43 tackles, 8.5 sacks, 13.5 TFLs, four forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
Finalists for the 2025 Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award will be unveiled, Dec. 9. The winner will be announced Dec. 16. The presentation of the award will be held during the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Celebration Dinner, Jan. 17.
