Virgin-Morgan, Casey Earn Spots on ESPN Top 100

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State EDGE Jayden Virgin-Morgan and offensive tackle Kage Caey earned inclusion on ESPN's preseason list of Top 100 College Football Players. Virgin-Morgan was ranked 48th and Casey was tabbed 63rd, making the Broncos the only Mountain West team and one of 24 total teams with multiple selections. Trey White (San Diego State) is the only other MW selection. Last season, Bronco running back Ashton Jeanty was ranked 25th in ESPN's preseason list and second in its postseason list. Defensive end Ahmed Hassanein was unranked in the preseason but earned the 67th spot at the end of the year.
Virgin-Morgan is featured on preseason watch lists for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, Bednarik Award, Lombardi Award and Lott IMPACT Trophy. The team captain was named Preseason All-America by Athlon Sports. In 2024, he tied for 14th in the country with 10.0 sacks and 17th in the nation with 15.5 tackles for loss, leading Boise State in both categories. He was named All-MW first team, leading the Broncos to an FBS-high 55 sacks.
Casey's preseason accolades include four Preseason All-America selections and watch list appearances for the Lombardi Award and Outland Trophy. In 2024, he ranked seventh among FBS offensive tackles with an 87.0 Pro Football Focus pass blocking grade. He paved the way for a Boise State offense that scored 37.3 points per game, fifth-most in the nation. Also voted a team captain for the 2025 campaign, Casey earned All-America honors from five outlets and was named All-MW first team.
Boise State kicks off the 2025 season at South Florida on Thursday, Aug. 28. The game will air nationally on ESPN at 5:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. MT.
