
Jeanty Named Mountain West Male Athlete of the Year

BOISE, Idaho – Former Boise State football running back Ashton Jeanty was named 2024-25 Mountain West Male Athlete of the Year, the conference announced. He is the sixth Bronco to secure a MW Athlete of the Year honor, with the group combining for a league-high nine awards. Jeanty joins Avery Williams (2020-21) as the only Boise State football players to be recognized.
Jeanty's 2024 campaign was one of the most prolific in college football history, finishing with 2,601 rushing yards, the second-highest single-season total in FBS history. He was the Heisman Trophy runner-up and won the Maxwell Award, Doak Walker Award, Bobby Bowden Trophy and Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award. The team captain became the program's first Unanimous All-American and was also crowned MW Offensive Player of the Year for the second-consecutive year.
Behind Jeanty, Boise State won its second-straight MW title and earned the No. 3 seed in the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff, appearing in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl. He finished his Bronco career as the program's career record-holder in rushing yards (4,769), yards per carry (6.36), yards per game (119.2), 200-yard rushing games (8), 100-yard rushing games (22), consecutive 100-yard rushing games (14) and 200-yard all-purpose games (11).
Jeanty set CFP-era records for yards after contact (1,970), missed tackles forced (164) and Pro Football Focus rushing grade (96.6). He also became the first player in college football history to rush for over 100 yards 14 times in a season. In April, he was selected sixth overall by the Las Vegas Raiders in the NFL Draft, becoming the highest draft pick in school history.Â
