Madsen Selected to Davey O’Brien Award Watch List

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State quarterback Maddux Madsen was selected to the Davey O'Brien Award Watch List, the Davey O'Brien Foundation announced. The award is presented annually to the nation's best quarterback. Madsen, the Preseason Mountain West Player of the Year, was a member of the Davey O'Brien Quarterback Class of 2024. Madsen is one of 36 players on this season's watch list. He and Colorado State's Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi are the only student-athletes from the MW.
Madsen, who is also featured on the Maxwell Award and Walter Camp Award watch lists, completed 247-of-396 passes for a conference-high 3,018 yards and 23 touchdowns last year. He ran for 221 yards and five touchdowns, earning All-MW Honorable Mention. The team captain was named Preseason All-MW First Team by Athlon Sports and Phil Steele.
The official Davey O'Brien Midseason Watch List will be released on October 21. The 35-player Davey O'Brien QB Class of 2025 will be announced on October 28. Semifinalists will be named on November 12. The Foundation will announce three finalists November 25. The winner of the 49th Davey O'Brien Award will be unveiled live on ESPN on December 11 during The Home Depot College Football Awards.
