Mountain West Announces Fall 2025 Esports Postseason Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West announced its Fall 2025 Esports Players and Coaches of the Year, as voted on by the league's coaches.
Boise State's Preston "PRSTN" Ferrante earned Rocket League Player of the Year, while fellow Bronco Eric "Mada" Labastida won Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (SSBU) Player of the Year. Coach of the Year honors went to Boise State's Payton Wilkin for Rocket League and San José State's Gabriel Eckenroth for SSBU.

PRESTON "PRSTN" FERRANTE, BOISE STATE
Sophomore, Altadena, California
- Two-time Mountain West Champion (2023, 2025).
- Finalist at the Collegiate Rocket League World Championship.
- Collegiate Rocket League National Champion (2023).
- Participated in CECC May Madness Finals (2024).
- Pursuing a degree in business.
SUPER SMASH BROS. ULTIMATE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
ERIC "MADA" LABASTIDA, BOISE STATE
Senior, Boise, Idaho
- First semester as captain of the SSBU team at Boise State.
- Led the roster from winless in the MW in 2024 to Grand Finals in 2025.
- Mentored two new players on the team.
- Hosts and runs local events every week out of the Boise State facility.
- Pursuing a degree in applied mathematics.
