Broncos Land League-High 18 on Phil Steele Preseason All-Pac-12 Teams

BOISE, Idaho – The Phil Steele Preseason All-Pac-12 teams were announced, with Boise State garnering a conference-high 18 selections. The Broncos placed five on the first team, tying Fresno State and Utah State for the most in the league.
Boise State's first team selections are running back Dylan Riley, offensive linemen Roger Carreon and Daylon Metoyer, EDGE Jayden Virgin-Morgan and defensive back Jaden Mickey. Six Broncos landed on the second team, including quarterback Maddux Madsen, running back Sire Gaines, offensive linemen Jason Steele and Tyler Etheridge, defensive back Sherrod Smith and punter Oscar Doyle.
Tight end Matt Wagner, EDGE Max Stege, linebacker Boen Phelps and long snapper Caden Kellow are featured on the third team. Rounding out the fourth team are wide receiver Rasean Jones, defensive lineman Makaio Edward and kicker Colton Boomer.
In 2024, Carreon, Riley and Virgin-Morgan were named Phil Steele All-Mountain West second team. This was the second-consecutive season Riley and Virgin-Morgan were recognized. Gaines earned a fourth team nod last season, while Madsen was a third team selection in 2024.
