Good morning!

It's always What's Next. But today, a big part of What's Next is here!

As of today, July 1, 2026, Boise State is a member of the Pac-12 Conference.

It's been a long two years since we accepted the invitation to join the Pac-12 in September 2024, but we all are extremely excited to officially be a part of this reborn conference! The Pac-12 fits with who we are: a conference full of dreamers who understand its impact on those it serves.

I am grateful for Teresa Gould, the Pac-12 commissioner who has helped us seven new schools along with Oregon State and Washington State navigate the long path to the new era of the Pac-12. Her leadership and her staff have been supportive and collaborative in this process, helping us make sure this is a conference built with student-athletes at the center and with a "disruptor" mindset among its membership!

This version of the Pac-12 is a bolder and more aggressive version of itself. Its 110-year history did not make it cautious. It made it more certain. It's where tradition meets transformation. It has a bold vision for the future of college athletics - and that's what makes us excited!

I am also extremely grateful for you, Bronco Nation. The trust you have had throughout this process has been appreciated, and we are becoming a Pac-12 member with millions watching us on TV, hundreds of thousands of you attending an event at Boise State, thousands of season ticket holders across our sport programs, 10,000-plus BAA members, 330-plus Lyle Smith Society members - it takes a TEAM! Not only is Boise State a member of the Pac-12, so are you!

What changes with joining the Pac-12? From the standpoint of our standard and expectations, we will remain Boise State. When student-athletes, coaches and staff make the choice to be a Bronco, they are doing so with the expectation that we will be competing for championships. We are a national brand ready to compete on the national stage. We will now be doing that with the Pac-12 across our chests!

We represent something bigger than ourselves. We not only represent our great university, the Boise community and the Treasure Valley - we represent the entire state of Idaho! We are the Front Porch of Idaho, and we can't wait to share this great state and its communities with the Pac-12 conference members!

Although today is a day of celebration and gratitude, we are never finished - it's always What's Next!

Go Broncos!
