Six Broncos Named WGCA All-American Scholars

BOISE, Idaho – The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) announced its 2025-26 All-American Scholars, with six Boise State student-athletes garnering recognition. Annie Buffolino, Leia Chung, Macee Greenwood, Jillian Hui, Teal Matsueda and Brooke Patterson were recognized for their efforts on the course and in the classroom.

"This award, for our sport, epitomizes what it means and takes to be a student-athlete. Maintaining a 3.5 GPA or higher while traveling and competing speaks to a high level of commitment and time management," said head coach Kailin Downs. "I couldn't be more proud of these six for all their hard work both in the classroom and on the course."

Buffolino played in five tournaments for Boise State, notching career-lows in 18-hole (68, -4) and 54-hole score (222, +6) at the Molly Collegiate Invitational, placing a career-best 18th. She was 3-0 at Mountain Classic Match Play and won all three matchups in the State of Idaho Match. This is her third-career WGCA All-American Scholar recognition.

Chung led the Broncos with a 72.24 scoring average, winning three individual titles, including the Golfweek Fall Challenge, where she carded a school-record 199 (-14). She also won the 2026 Mountain West Championship, firing a 211 (-5). She became the third player in program history to qualify for an NCAA Regional and received the Kim Moore Spirit Award. She is also a three-time WGCA All-American Scholar.

Greenwood appeared in eight tournaments for the Broncos, including the Golfweek Red Sky Classic, where she shot a career-low 219 (+3). She added a ninth-place finish at the Molly Collegiate Invitational, helping Boise State finish second in the field. This is the second time she has been named a WGCA All-American Scholar.

Jillian Hui saw action in 10 of Boise State's tournaments, tying for 18th at the Molly Collegiate Invitational with a 224 (+8). She posted a season-low 216 (E) at the New Mexico State Golf Iconic Classic, tying for 15th and helping the Broncos win the team title. She has been named a WGCA All-American Scholar in all three seasons of her collegiate career.

Teal Matsueda played in all 11 tournaments for the Broncos, posting the eighth-best single-season scoring average in program history (74.37). She fired a season-best 213 (-3) at the New Mexico State Golf Iconic Classic, finishing eighth and helping Boise State capture the team crown. She notched a career-best fifth-place finish at the Juli Inkster Invitational, tallying a 218 (+2). She has also garnered WGCA All-American Scholar honors in all three years of her career.

Patterson competed in nine tournaments for the Blue and Orange, including the Juli Inkster Invitational, where she earned a season-best 37th-place finish. She won all three matchups in the State of Idaho Match, helping the Broncos to a 13.5-2.5 victory. This is the third time she has been recognized as a WGCA All-American Scholar.

To be named a WGCA All-American Scholar, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher and play in at least 50 percent of the team's tournaments. This year, 1,551 student-athletes were recognized.
