The Blue, Celebrating 40 Years
In honor of the 40th Anniversary of The Blue, Boise State will honor two of the most transformational players in program history, Ashton Jeanty and Kellen Moore, with orange sideline hash marks at the 2-yard and 11-yard lines, on both sides of the field, in reference to the jersey numbers that Jeanty and Moore wore as Broncos. The permanent orange markings link the Boise State legends to Lyle Smith Field where they helped build Boise State's national identity, alongside the legendary coach, known as the father of Bronco football. With these new markings, every game at Albertsons Stadium will carry a deeper meaning, connecting the past to the future, and ensuring that the legacy of two Bronco legends remains embedded in The Blue for generations to come.
History of Winning on The Blue
The Broncos have gone 218-46 at home since installing the turf in 1986, developing the finest home-field advantage in the Group of Five and helping the program establish itself among the most consistently successful in the sport.
Boise State has the nation's highest winning percentage at the FBS level, posting a .763 mark (293-91) since moving up in 1996. Behind the Broncos are Ohio State (.756), Alabama (.740), Michigan (.732) and Notre Dame (.726).
Boise State is the second-winningest football program by percentage in the country since 2000 (.801, 270-67), trailing only Ohio State (.835; 273-54). Boise State has recorded at least eight victories in 24 seasons since 2000, tying Georgia and Oklahoma for the most by an FBS team during that time frame. Since 2000, Boise State has registered more wins (270) than any other western team by 20 victories, with Oregon (250), USC (218), Utah (216) and BYU (215) following.
Passion of Bronco Nation
Albertsons Stadium has sold out every regular season home game since the start of the 2024 season, and experienced a stretch of 14 straight sellouts that started with the end of the 2023 campaign. Boise State has sold out every regular season home game under head coach Spencer Danielson. The Broncos sold out all seven games in 2024, finishing the season with a total attendance of 259,801 and an average of 37,114, both of which are program records for a single season. Last year, with a reduced attendance due to the construction of the North End Zone Project, the Broncos still totaled 224,497 people, for an average of 32,071 per game.
