BOULDER, Colo. — Boise State men's golf concluded the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational on Wednesday, finishing 11th in the 17-team field.
Collectively, Boise State shot 855 (+15), carding rounds of 282-283-290. Rising three spots on Day 2, the Broncos defeated six teams, including Colorado State (856, +16) and Utah State (857, +17) who are current members of the Pac-12.
For the second time this season, junior Trevor Garus completed a tournament in the top 25. Shooting under par in two of the three rounds, Garus carded a 207 (67-69-71) and tied for 11th. His 3-under 67 in the opening 18 holes set a new personal best for lowest single round score, surpassing the 68 he shot on two occasions during his freshman year at UCLA.
As a team, Boise State shot par 172 times, which was tied for fourth most amongst competing teams. Garus, who parred 40 times in the invitational, led the Broncos and tied for second in the field, trailing Kellen Ball (43) from Wyoming.
