Following his playing career at Boise State, Demitri Washington joined the Bronco coaching staff as an assistant EDGE coach prior to the 2024 season. He moved to an assistant coach on the defensive line in 2026.

In 2025, the Bronco defense forced 23 turnovers, a mark that ranked third in the conference and 21st in the nation. The Broncos were also third among MW teams in total defense (337.6 yards per game). EDGEs accounted for 12 of the team's 27 sacks a season ago. He played a big role in the Broncos' nation-leading 55 sacks on the season and 111 tackles for loss - a mark that was good for seventh in the nation - in 2024.

In his first season on the coaching staff, Washington helped in the development of all-conference EDGE rushers Ahmed Hassanein and Jayden Virgin-Morgan. As a team, Boise led the country in sacks and was seventh in tackles for loss, which helped it win the Mountain West championship for the second year in a row and reach the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl as the No. 3 seed.

Washington played six years at Boise State. After redshirting as a true freshman in 2018, he went on to play in 42 games from 2019-23. He finished his career with 133 tackles, 16.0 TFLs and 11.5 sacks. He had a career-high 4.5 sacks as a redshirt freshman in 2019 and as a redshirt junior in 2022.

Originally from Solana Beach, Calif., Washington graduated from Boise State and was a five-time Academic All-Mountain West honoree and four-time Mountain West Scholar-Athlete. He was also on the 2023 Wuerffel Trophy Watch List.
