Holmes joined the staff as an offensive quality control coach in the summer of 2026 following a successful career on the offensive line with the Broncos.

The West Linn, Ore., native appeared in a total of 27 games for Boise State, including 14 career starts at center. He played in both of the two most recent Mountain West Championships that the program claimed on The Blue.

In 2025, he played in all 14 games and notched six starts from the center position. He played every offensive snaps in four games, including a win at Utah State in which he paved the way for an offense that generated 512 yards in his 101 snaps. He also played every snap in the 2025 Mountain West Championship win over UNLV, recording a season-best 83.5 Pro Football Focus pass blocking grade.

As a redshirt junior, Holmes tallied 13 games and eight starts at center. He was the highest-graded pass blocked at UNLV on Oct. 25 and against Wyoming on Nov. 23.
