SOPHOMORE (2023-24): Started all 38 games played as a sophomore…helped guide Illinois to a 29-9 overall record and a trip to the NCAA Elite Eight…averaged 6.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting 52.7 percent (98-186 FGs) from the field…scored in double figures seven times and recorded three double-doubles…made first career start versus Eastern Illinois (Nov. 6)…dished out a career high five assists and pulled down eight rebounds against Colgate (Dec. 17)…notched career-highs in rebounds (15) and free throws (4), tied career high with five assists, and added 10 points versus FDU (Dec. 29)…set career highs in points (15) and tied career high with six field goals against Michigan State (Jan. 11)…tied career high with five assists versus Maryland (Jan. 14)…tied career high in points (15) and field goals (6), and registered a career-high two blocks at Michigan (Jan. 18)…tied career high with two blocks and collected eight points, five rebounds, two assists and one steal against Indiana (Jan. 27)…notched second double-double of the season at Ohio State (Jan. 30), recording 13 points and 10 rebounds to go with two assists and one steal…posted a stat line of eight points, 14 rebounds, three assists, career-high three steals and career-high-tying two blocks versus Nebraska (Feb. 4)…had 12 points and 10 rebounds against Ohio State (March 15) in the Big Ten Tournament…recorded eight points, 13 rebounds and four assists versus Nebraska (March 16).
FRESHMAN (2022-23): Saw action in 33 games as a true freshman…averaged 3.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists while shooting 51.6 percent (48-93 FGs) from the field…scored in double figures twice…in his collegiate debut against Eastern Illinois (Nov. 7), dished out a career-high five assists and grabbed a season-high eight rebounds…tied season high with eight rebounds at Minnesota (Jan. 16) and versus Ohio State (Jan. 24)…recorded 11 points, season-high-tying eight rebounds, three assists and one steal at Penn State (Feb. 14)…tied season high with eight rebounds against Northwestern (Feb. 23)…scored season-high 14 points on a career-high six field goals and secured seven rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block versus Michigan (March 2)…collected a career-high four steals in the NCAA Tournament Round of 64 against Arkansas (March 16).
USA BASKETBALL (2022): Helped USA Basketball win the 2022 FIBA Americas U18 Championship in Tijuana, Mexico…averaged 5.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 18.1 minutes per game during Team USA’s run to the gold medal…played with multiple current NBA players, including Stephon Castle (San Antonio), Jared McCain (Oklahoma City) and Cam Whitmore (Washington)…coached by Boise State head coach Leon Rice, who served as an assistant under Tad Boyle.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Thornton Township High School in Chicago, Illinois, and played for Tai Streets…averaged 17.3 points, 15.4 rebounds, eight assists, three steals and three blocks as a senior…led Thornton to a regional title and sectional final appearance…graduated as a four-start recruit and was ranked No. 52 by ESPN, No. 53 by 247Sports, No. 59 by Rivals and No. 64 by On3 Consensus…prior to Thornton Township, played at Grand Blanc High School in Michigan…led Grand Blanc to a 2021 state championship, the first state title in school history…posted 17.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.3 steals as a junior…was the 2021 Michigan Division I Player of the Year by the Associated Press.
