Ramirez is entering her 17th season as a member of the Boise State staff and her 11th as an assistant coach. The Boise State graduate served as the program’s director of operations for six seasons before being promoted to assistant coach ahead of the 2016-17 campaign. In her role as an assistant coach, Ramirez’s responsibilities primarily include recruiting, practice sessions, game-day coaching, scouting and serving as the primary guards coach.
Since her promotion to assistant coach, Ramirez has helped guide Boise State to a 203-116 overall record and a 111-70 mark in Mountain West play. The Broncos have won two MW regular-season titles (2018-19) and four conference tournament crowns (2017-20), while earning four NCAA Tournament bids (2017-20).
She has helped oversee Bronco squads that twice set the program record for wins in a season, first helping guide the 2016-17 team to a then-record 25 victories before the 2018-19 squad eclipsed that total with 28 wins.
Ramirez took over as the primary guards coach starting with the 2025-26 season and saw tremendous success with Dani Bayes and Natalie Pasco. Bayes was named to the All-MW team in her senior season, averaging 12.3 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. She scored in double figures in 22 contests, including a career-high 31 points and seven 3-pointers against UC Davis. Most notably, Bayes concluded her career with 211 3-pointers made, ranking fourth in program history.
Pasco established herself as one of the program’s top-range shooters under Ramirez’s leadership. She shot 43.7% from beyond the arc during her senior season, ranking first in the MW and 10th in the NCAA. She led the MW in both total 3-pointers made and 3-pointers made per game, finishing with 80 and 2.35, respectively. Her impressive performance earned her a spot on the national stage, competing at the Celsius Women’s 3-Point Championships. Pasco finished her career with 1,571 points, the fourth-most in program history; 559 career field goals, the fifth-most in program history; and 275 career 3-pointers made, along with a 40.4% career 3-point percentage, both ranking second in program history. She also finished her career with an 84.9% free-throw percentage, the best in program history.
Under her leadership as the primary defensive coach, the Broncos have grown tremendously on the defensive end of the floor. Abby Muse excelled under Ramirez’s leadership, becoming the program’s all-time leading shot blocker in just three seasons. Muse also became the first Bronco to be named Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year, earning the honor in 2023. She was also named to the Mountain West All-Defensive Team in 2024.
Ramirez helped raise the defensive profile of the program. From 2022-25, the Broncos finished in the top 10 nationally in blocks per game. In 2023-24, Boise State held opponents to league-best marks in field-goal percentage defense (36.9%) and scoring defense (58.9 points per game), while forcing teams to shoot just 29.4% from beyond the arc.
Prior to taking over as the primary defensive coach, Ramirez primarily worked with the guards, who thrived under her tutelage. Boise State guards earned six All-Mountain West honors and two All-Defensive Team nods under her leadership. Riley Lupfer became just the third Bronco in program history to earn three first-team all-conference selections, joining Lidiya Varbanova and Tricia Bader, when she was named to the All-Mountain West Team for the third consecutive season in 2019-20.
Lupfer, in particular, put together one of the top careers in Bronco history, ending her run in 2019-20 as Boise State’s all-time leader in 3-pointers made with 350, as well as the fourth-leading scorer in program history with 1,538 points. Lupfer also set both the Boise State and Mountain West single-season records for 3-pointers made in 2017-18, knocking down 128 triples. In her senior season (2018-19), she finished third in the country with 105 3-pointers made.
The guards also made their mark in postseason play during Ramirez’s coaching tenure, as Brooke Pahukoa (2017), Riley Lupfer (2018) and Braydey Hodgins (2019) each claimed Mountain West Tournament MVP honors.
Ramirez’s previous collegiate coaching experience includes serving as an assistant coach at the College of Idaho during the 2009-10 season before joining the Bronco staff as the director of operations. While at the College of Idaho, she helped guide the Coyotes through an impressive season. The program’s accomplishments included finishing the season with a 21-8 overall record, winning the Cascade Collegiate Conference regular-season title with a 14-4 mark and capturing the school’s first league tournament championship, finishing the season ranked No. 20 nationally in NAIA Division II and advancing to the NAIA National Tournament. While at the College of Idaho, she helped coach one NAIA All-American Third Team honoree, the CCC Defensive Player of the Year, three All-CCC honorees and five Daktronics/NAIA All-America Scholar-Athletes.
Her duties at the College of Idaho included recruiting, film exchange, on-court coaching, preparing scouting reports, organizing team volunteer opportunities, planning post-player development and assisting with the day-to-day operations of the program.
Following her graduation from Boise State in 2005, Ramirez stayed active in basketball throughout the Treasure Valley in various capacities. She served as the assistant varsity coach at Boise High School from 2005 through June 2009, where she worked alongside another former Bronco, Kim Brydges (1994-98). At Boise High, she assisted with practice planning, on-court coaching, scheduling and organizing camps, team-building exercises and player development.
Ramirez’s other coaching experience includes serving as the co-head coach of the Hoop Dreams Traveling Club of Boise from 2008 to 2010.
As a player at Boise State from 2001-05, Ramirez was a vital member of the program, playing every position at some point in her career, from point guard through center. Ramirez played in 118 games with nine starts, recording 558 points, 393 rebounds, 120 assists, 109 steals and 22 blocks. She averaged 4.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 18.4 minutes per game.
She was also recognized for her stellar work in the classroom, earning WAC All-Academic honors four times from 2002-05.
Ramirez is a native of La Quinta, Calif., and graduated from Boise State in December 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.
