    Senior Offensive Analyst
  • Email:
Strausser rejoined the Bronco coaching staff for his third stint with the Broncos in February 2026.

He previously worked as Boise State’s offensive line coach from 2001-05 and returned to the Treasure Valley to work under Chris Petersen as the tight ends coach in 2007. He was promoted to assistant head coach, offensive line coach and run game coordinator in 2010, serving in that capacity for a total of four seasons before following Petersen to Washington.

Strausser played a huge role during one of the most explosive offensive periods in Boise State history. Between his two stints with the Broncos, Strausser compiled a 132-24 mark and won a combined eight conference championships. From 2010-12, Boise State was the only team in the nation ranked in the top 10 nationally in fewest sacks allowed in all three seasons. He was crucial in the development of all-conference players such as Daryn Colledge, Matt Hill, Charles Leno, Matt Paradis and current offensive coordinator Nate Potter.

He brings NFL experience to the program, having most recently worked as the offensive line coach for the Houston Texans from 2023-24. Strausser helped the squad reach the divisional round of the NFL playoffs in both seasons. Before his time with the Texans, he spent four seasons in the same role for the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts finished second in the league with 149.4 rushing yards per game in 2021, with running back Jonathan Taylor claiming the league’s rushing title. Strausser got his NFL start in 2017 as an assistant offensive line coach with the Denver Broncos, before elevating to the offensive line coach the following season.

Strausser followed Petersen to Washington in 2014, where he served as the associate head coach and offensive line coach for three seasons. He also spent a season as the offensive line coach at Colorado in between his two stints with the Broncos. Prior to joining Boise State, Strausser had stops at Portland State, San Jose State and Sonoma State. He began his collegiate coaching career as a wide receivers and tight ends coach at Menlo College before becoming a graduate assistant at Oregon State prior to the 1990 season.
