Keita Shimada joined Boise State Sports Medicine in 2010 and currently serves as an associate athletic trainer. Shimada works with gymnastics and men's and women's golf. He has worked with gymnastics since 2008 when he started at Boise State as a graduate assistant.
Shimada was selected by the USA Gymnastics Committee to speak at the USA Gymnastics National Congress meeting on the topic of educating coaches on the management of gymnastics injuries.
Shimada graduated from Oregon State in 2007. Upon earning his degree, Shimada stayed on for one year as an intern working with football and wrestling.
A native of Tokyo, Japan Shimada moved to New York when he was five years old. After graduating from high school in 2000 Keita attended Oregon State where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 2007.
Shimada is an avid fisherman and spends much of his time near the water but he is also known to frequent many local golf courses.
