Inducted into the Boise State Hall of Fame in 1988


David Hughes played running back for the Broncos from 1977 to 1980.  A four-year letterman, Hughes gained 1,826 yards and scored 12 touchdowns in his career. During his sophomore season, Hughes received first team All-Big Sky Conference honors and was the team’s second leading rusher behind Hall of Fame member Cedric Minter.  He received second team honors following his junior and senior seasons.  After completing his career at Boise State, Hughes was drafted for the Seahawks gaining 1,009 yards and making 97 receptions for 766 yards. He finished his career in 1986 with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
