Broncos Undefeated in 10 Matches Friday

Five members of the team recorded two victories apiece to post a flawless opening day of the tournament for the Broncos.
Senior Stacey Housley defeated Patricia Ruman of Idaho in straight sets 6-1 and 6-3 in the morning’s draw, then went on to win in perfect sets 6-0 and 6-0 over Orayce Farias of Weber State.
Also earning a perfect set victory was sophomore Jana Mackova, who ousted Inalise Pienaar of Weber State, 6-0 and 6-0. Mackova earned another straight set victory over
Fellow senior, Tiffany Coll joined Housley with an undefeated day when she registered a 6-1 and 6-2 victory over Laura Schrubb of
Sophomore Laura Baum also posted two straight set victories Friday. In the morning’s match she defeated
Earning victories for the Broncos over two Vandal players Friday was freshman Bianca Jochimsen. In the opening match she defeated Efrat Leopold 6-1 and 6-0 then Jochimsen went onto vanquish Mariel Tinnerello, 6-4, 2-6 and 6-4.
“This was a really good day for us,” Head Women’s Tennis Coach Mark Tichenor said. “But it is you finish. We have to come out and play better tomorrow and even better on Sunday.”
