Broncos Remain Perfect in Boise State Invite

BOISE, Idaho The Boise State University women’s tennis team remains unbeaten at the Boise State Invitational, as the team won all five of its singles matches and all four of its doubles matches Saturday, at the Boas Tennis and Soccer Complex in Boise, Idaho.

After posting a perfect 10-0 record in singles play Friday, Nov. 3, the Broncos again came out with a vengeance and recorded an undefeated day on the courts.

The duo of Laura Baum and Jana Mackova recorded two of the Broncos victories in doubles play, as they beat Weber State’s Gabi Venditto and Inalise Pienaar 8-2, and then defeated Laura Leoni and Efrat Leopold of Idaho 8-0.

The final two victories in doubles play came courtesy of Bianca Jochimsen and Tiffany Coll.  The pair from Boise State ousted Idaho’s Leopold and Leoni in the morning’s match, and then they vanquished Keya Adamson and Ashley Schappers of Weber State 8-0.

Five separate Broncos recorded a victory in singles play Saturday with the two seniors leading the way. Coll defeated Leoni of Idaho 6-4 and 6-2, while fellow senior Stacey Housley beat Weber State’s Schappers 6-2 and 6-2.

Earning a perfect set victory in singles play was Baum when she defeated Kate Ennenga of Weber State 6-0 and 6-0.

The final victories of the day for the Broncos were turned in by Mackova and Jochimsen. Mackova defeated Patricia Ruman of Idaho in straight sets 7-5 and 6-0 while Jochimsen beat Weber State’s Venditto 6-1 and 6-2 to close out the perfect day for Boise State.

The Boise State Invitational will continue Sunday, Nov. 4, starting at 9:30 at the Boas Tennis and Soccer Complex in Boise, Idaho.
