During his prep career, Childs earned first-team all-state, first-team all-county, first-team Long Beach Dream Team, first-team L.A. Times, first-team All-Sunset League, offensive player of the year, All-CIF, CBS Sportsline All-America, and second-team EA Sports All-National Team accolades. Childs was also a member of the honor roll and was named a scholar athlete.
“I think Jeremy Childs has been doing a very nice job,” Petersen said. “He’s had an extremely consistent camp and he is definitely going to compete for major playing time. He’s been making plays, his assignments have been sharp and clean, and he’s doing exactly what we need him to do.”
