
Bronco Cross Country Teams to Compete This Weekend

The Bronco men will be competing in the 8k Gold Race at 10:40 a.m., with teams from Division I, as well as junior colleges, club teams and unattached runners. The Bronco women will be running in the 5k Gold Race, beginning at 11:20 a.m.
“This is the first time this season that we are able to earn points towards the national championships,” cross country coach David Welsh said. “We are hoping for an excellent performance out of our runners to get a great start on reaching the NCAAs as a team.”

Braden ran the eight-kilometer race in 23-minutes, 59-seconds, finishing 16-seconds behind men’s invitational champion Scotty Baughs of
Fellow senior Ty Axtman, who recorded his first-career individual victory, Sept. 9, at the Hampton Inn and Suites Fall Harrier Classic, posted the only other top 20 finish for the Broncos at the event. Axtman finished 12th with a time of 24:29.
On the women’s side, sophomore Breanna Sande, who also recorded her first-career individual victory at the Fall Harrier Classic, led the Broncos with a six-kilometer time of 21:46, finishing 36th.
