Eaton and Sande Lead the Broncos To Victory

The women’s team was led to victory by junior Breanne Sande who finished the 4,000-meter grass course in 14:13.6. The Broncos collected 24 points as six runners posted top 10 times for the first place finish.
Senior Cody Eaton paced the men’s team as he recorded an 18:46.7 on the 6,000-meter course. The men’s team recorded 29 points as all six
Sophomore Hilary McClendon finished in fourth place with a 14:31.0, followed by senior Chaly Jones in fifth in a 14:56.2, and Carly Gerard in sixth with a 14:58.1. Rounding out the top 10 was Alexandria Bell (15:16.6) in eighth, Kendra Hernandez (15:19.2) in ninth and Pamila Ward (15:20.2) in 10th. Four other runners also registered times for the Broncos as Meadow Braden finished in 15:33.7 for 16th place, Karleigh Gempler recorded a 15:34.3 for 17th place, Christa Hughes posted a 15:49.2 for 19th place, and Breanne Whitlock finished in 32nd place with a 16:50.9.
For the men’s team, freshman Sawyer Bosch recorded a third place finish in his first collegiate event with an 18:49.9. Bosch was followed by fellow freshman Kevin Higgs and Scott Foley. Higgs posted a 19:02.2 to finish in fifth place and Foley recorded a 19:22.8 for ninth. Rounding out the scoring for the Broncos was Stanley Chebii in 11th place (19:39.0) and Cameron Lockard in 20th place (20:00.3).
