34 BRONCO STUDENT-ATHLETES EARN WAC ALL-ACADEMIC HONORS

            BOISE, Idaho The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) has announced its 2007 fall sports all-academic team and 34 Boise State University student-athletes have been named to the team.

            The Broncos had the second most number of student-athletes receiving academic honors among the nine WAC schools with 34.  Utah State University led the league with 42.

            Boise State tied Fresno State for tops among the football teams with 16.  The Bronco women’s soccer team had 11 student-athletes named to the team while volleyball had four, men’s cross country two and women’s cross country one.

            To be eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have at least a 3.00 cumulative grade point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s contests.

            Following is a list of the all-academic award winners from Boise State.

            Football Josh Bean, Jeff Biedermann, Tim Brady, Richie Brockel, Jeff Cavender, Pete Cavender, Dallas Dobbs, Kyle Gingg, Michael Lose, Jeff Lowe, Chris O’Neill, Orlando Scandrick, Nich Schlekeway, Austin Smith, Taylor Tharp and Kyle Wilson.

            Women’s Soccer Randi Baker, Melanie Bohnet, Emma Boyack, Jennifer Burns, Brittney Dugger, Natalie Griffin, Katelynn Keller, Sophie Parrish, Kaylea Perenon, Nichole Tadman and Allison Tsuchida

            Women’s Volleyball Elise Ardron, Kathryn Lewis, Jeanene Rose and Tiffany Starring
