Johnson named preseason first-team All-America by NationalChamps.net

BOISE, Idaho Senior running back Ian Johnson has been named a preseason first-team All-America by NationalChamps.net.
Johnson, who is the websites No. 10 ranked Heisman Trophy candidate, heads into his senior season as the nation’s career rushing leader (3,418 yards), career rushing touchdowns leader (45 TDs), career all-purpose touchdowns leader and scoring touchdowns leader (46 TDs). Johnson is a two-time first-team All-Western Athletic Conference pick and finished eighth in the 2006 Heisman Trophy balloting.
The San Dimas, Calif., native needs just 1,059 yards rushing as a senior to become Boise State’s all-time leading rusher. He also needs six rushing touchdowns to set a new school record for career rushing touchdowns. He was a preseason third-team All-America pick by Nationalchamps.net last season.
Sophomore kicker Kyle Brotzman was named a preseason honorable mention All-America pick, while Boise State was ranked 25th in the websites preseason top 25.
