Individually, the Broncos hold six national top-100 rankings. Redshirt junior Taylor Jacob leads the way, tying for No. 38 on bars (9.850 Regional Qualifying Standard). Redshirt freshman Chelsee Apple is the next-best ranked Bronco, tying for No. 43 on vault (9.855 RQS) while senior Shaniece Craft joins her on the event in a tie for No. 66 (9.835 RQS). Freshman Lindsay Kazandjian is tied for the No. 59 spot on beam (9.820 RQS) while sophomores Kelsey Lang (9.830 RQS) and Sarah Smith (9.820 RQS) rank No. 74 and No. 88 on floor, respectively.
Cal State Fullerton enters the week with a 7-9 record and a 3-3 WAC record. The Titans rank as the No. 42 team in the country while also ranking No. 30 on vault, No. 40 on bars, No. 50 on beam and No. 44 on floor.
The Titan’s Alaina Baker is the only gymnast to hold a national top-100 individual ranking, but she ranks in three events. Baker sits as high as a tie for No. 49 on floor (9.855 RQS) while also tying for No. 86 on vault (9.825 RQS). Baker also sits as the No. 56-ranked all-around gymnast in the nation (39.010 RQS).
The Hornets of Sacramento State head into the championships with a No. 40 spot in the national rankings this week. With a 10-8 overall record and 1-5 against WAC teams, the Hornets rank as high as No. 27 on beam as a team. They also rank No. 38 on bars, No. 45 on floor and No. 49 on vault.
Individually, Marina Borisova leads the way, holding four top-100 national rankings. She is tied for No. 48 on bars (9.845 RQS), tied for No. 82 on beam (9.80 RQS) and tied for No. 88 on floor (9.820 RQS). She also holds the No. 45 spot in the all-around ranks (39.120 RQS) while teammate Eryn Stubblefield joins at No. 97 in the all-around rankings (38.540 RQS).
The San Jose State Spartans rank No. 34 in this week’s national rankings and hold an impressive 14-1 overall record and 7-1 WAC record. The Spartans rank No. 34 on vault as a team, are tied for No. 25 on bars, No. 43 on beam and No. 23 on floor.
Freshman Thomasina Wallace leads the way with three national top-100 rankings, including the No. 10 spot on bars (9.885 RQS). She also sits in a tie for No. 42 on floor (9.860 RQS) and a tie for No. 41 in the all-around (39.155 RQS). Veronica Porte holds two rankings, her best is a tie for No. 42 on floor (9.860 RQS) while she also sits at No. 47 in the all-around (39.090 RQS). Lily Swann rounds out the top-100 rankings for the Spartans, tying for No. 68 on vault (9.835 RQS).
Four team members rank in the nation’s top-100 individual rankings this week. Elise Wheeler leads the team with a tied spot for No. 32 in the nation in the all-around (39.210 RQS). She also is tied for No. 39 on beam (9.845 RQS), tied for No. 49 on floor (9.855 RQS) and ranks No. 74 on bars (9.820 RQS). Kellie Dangerfield is tied for No. 32 on beam (9.855 RQS) while also ranking No. 74 in the all-around (38.845 RQS). Melissa Johnson holds a No. 80-rank in the all-around (38.725 RQS) and is tied for No. 73 on vault (9.830 RQS) while Jenna Vogt is tied for the No. 84 spot in the all-around (38.670 RQS) to round out the ranked Thunderbirds.
Individually the Aggies have one top-100 nationally ranked gymnast. Nicole Simoneau is tied for the No. 23 spot on bars (9.865) holding the sole top-100 ranking for the Aggies.
