Broncos Finish Second in Mountain West Championship

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State earned a runner-up finish at the Mountain West Championship, posting a team score of 196.200. The Broncos fell to Utah State (196.400) but defeated San Jose State (195.800) and Air Force (195.750).
 
The Broncos had a strong start on floor, opening with a 49.000. In the night's first routine, sophomore Kristina Shchennikova notched a team-high 9.825. Sophomores Bridget Kemp and Delaney Reeves each tallied a 9.800, as did fifth year anchor Blake Pascal. Boise State continued with a 48.775 on vault, led by freshman Miraya Nero's 9.800. Kemp, senior Sydney Kho and freshman Isabella Delarosa backed her by all notching a 9.750.
 
Boise State delivered its top bars performance of the season in the third rotation, posting a 49.200. Junior Carly Buell, sophomore Noelle Ball and senior Kylee Hamby paced the Broncos at 9.850, with Buell and Hamby notched season-high scores. All-MW honorees Shchennikova and Mahleea Werline added a 9.825 for the Blue and Orange.
 
The Broncos closed with their best beam rotation of the year, posting a 49.225 team score. Freshman Sydnie Whipple tallied a career-high 9.900 while Shchennikova added a 9.875, her second-best score of the season. Nero notched a 9.850, her second-highest mark of the year, and Kho closed the meet with a 9.825, her seventh-straight beam routine of 9.800 or higher.
