The Boise State women have added eight new faces to their program, which includes Monisha Davis (Etiwands, CA), Destiny Gammage (Long Beach, CA), Emily Funkhouser (Grass Valley, OR), Shannon Porter (Brush Prairie, WA), Piper Delaney (Medford, OR), Rachelle Buck (Medford, OR), Kady Stafford (Powell Butte, OR) and Taryn Campos (Reseda, CA). The class boasts six student-athletes on the track. The group is made up of two hurdlers, two sprinters and two distance runners. The women have also signed two throwers.

Women’s Recruits:
Monisha Davis, Hurdles,
Davis will join Boise State from Etiwanda High School in Etiwanda, Calif...In high school she competed in the 100-meter high hurdles and the 300m intermediate hurdles...Her top 100m HH time is 14.27...Her best 300m IH time is 45.40...Coach Maynard says, “Monisha is a talented high hurdler, who shows the ability to drop under 14.0 as a senior in HS. She has only run the intermediate hurdles sparingly, and shows great future potential in that race.”

Gammage comes to
Emily Funkhouser, Sprints/Hurdles,
Funkhouser competed in the 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles, 400m and 800m at Sherman High School in Grass Valley, Ore...Her top 100m hurdles time is 15.34, while her top 300m hurdles time is 45.65...She ran the 400m in 58.8 and the 800m in 2:22.07...Funkhouser is a five-time Oregon State Champion between the 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles and 400m dash.
Shannon Porter, Distance, Brush Prairie,
Porter joins the Broncos from Hockinson High School in Brush Prairie, Wash...In high school she competed in the mile and 3,200m...Her top mile time is 5:07.33...Her top 3,200m time is 10:49.46...She won the 2A Washington State Championship in the 3,200m...Also won the 2008 2A cross-country state championship...Coach Maynard says, “Shannon will be a valuable addition to Boise State’s women’s distance program. We expect her to make an immediate positive impact as a freshman in both cross country and track and field”.

Delaney comes to

Joins the Bronco track and field program from Cascade Christian High School in Medford, Ore...In high school she competed in the discus and shot put...Her top mark in discus is 130-1....Top mark in shot put is 32-4.
Kady Stafford, Throws, Powell
Stafford is a senior at Crook County High School in Powell Butte, Ore...She competes in the javelin, discus and shot put...Her top javelin throw is 120-0...Her top Discus mark is 123-0...Her top shot put mark is 34-5.
Taryn Campos, Sprints, Reseda,
Campos joins the Broncos from John Burroughs High School in Reseda, Calif...She competes in the 400m, 200m, and is a member of the 4x400m relay team...Her top 400m time is 58.33, while her top 200m time is 25.13...Her 4x400m relay team recorded a time of 56.20.
Men’s Recruits:
Kurt Felix,
Felix comes to Boise from Central Arizona College...He is originally from Grenada, Caribbean...Felix is a decathlete...His top finish in the decathlon was 7091 points...His best marks are: javelin (216-4), long jump (23-8), triple jump (49-2) and high jump (6-10.74)...Coach Maynard says, “Kurt is a transfer from CAC, and currently ranked as the No. 1 decathlete in junior college in the nation. He is an extremely explosive and versatile athlete who will have an immediate and deep impact at the Western Athletic Conference and NCAA championship level”.
Jeff Daw, Sprints,
Daw is a senior at Skyline High School in Salt Lake City, Utah...He competes in the 400m and 200m...His has won the 5A Utah State Championship in the 200m and 400m...His top 200m time is 21.64...His top 400m time is 47.91...Coach Maynard says, “Jeff is a very exciting addition to our sprints and relays team. He has national class potential in both long sprints. Jeff should be a tremendous contributor at both the WAC and NCAA levels”.
Josh Butler, Jumps,
Island joins the Bronco track and field program from Crespi Carmelite High School in Encino, Calif...He competes in the 110m high hurdles and the 300m intermediate hurdles...His top 110m HH is 14.18...His top 300m IH is 37.54...Island finished seventh at the California State meet in the 300m hurdles...Coach Maynard says, “Mikio is considered by many as the top returning dual hurdler in California HS this year. His excellent sprint speed promises to make him a contributor on both relays as well as in the hurdles.”
Jeff Howard, Distance,
Howard comes to Boise from North Central High School in Spokane, Wash...He was the 2008 Nike Cross Country Northwest Regional Champion...He was part of a high school cross country team that won a national championship...His top 3,200m time is 9:25...Coach Maynard says, “Jeff comes from one of the most dominant HS distance programs in the region. He is a gritty competitor on the cross course, and has huge, and yet untapped potential on the track”.
Kevin Rossaaen, Distance,
Rossaaen joins the Broncos from Wilson High School in Tacoma, Wash...He competes in the 3,200m and is also a cross country runner...His top 3,200m time is 9:16.25...He finished third at the Nike Cross Country Northwest Regional Championships...He is related to former Boise State Head Coach Ed Jacoby...Coach Maynard says, “Kevin adds further depth to our recruiting class, as well as an already talented young distance team at
