Weatherspoon Ties School Record as Boise State Concludes Weekend of Competition

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State track and field athlete Raekwon Weatherspoon highlighted the team's weekend by tying the school record in the long jump with a mark of 7.89 meters (25 feet, 10.75 inches) as the Broncos concluded competition Saturday night at the Texas A&M 44 Farms Team Invitational and the NNU Open.

The mark matches the standard originally set by Eugene Green in 1990 and equaled by Savvas Diakonikolas in 2008. Pending results from around the country, Weatherspoon's leap would rank tied for seventh in the nation this season.

It was not his only top-five mark of the weekend as he, along with Allan McKeraghan, Josh Green and Harvey Scott, recorded the fifth-fastest 4x100-meter relay time in program history (40.51).

Priscilla Adu-Gyamfi also entered the program record book with her performance in Texas, running the third-fastest 400-meter time in Boise State history (54.03).

At the NNU Open, the Broncos won five event titles: Emily Jobes in the women's 1,500 meters, Noah Lara in the men's 110-meter hurdles, Noelani Krauss in the women's 800 meters, Shawn Jones in the men's 800 meters, and Alix Mund in the women's triple jump.
