Weatherspoon Named Mountain West Field Athlete of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Raekwon Weatherspoon was named the Mountain West Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week following his performance in the long jump at the UNLV Rebel Elite Invitational.

Weatherspoon recorded a leap of 7.78 meters to place first in a field of 16 competitors. His mark ranks fourth all-time in Boise State history and is the top mark in the MW this season. The jump also ranks tied for 11th nationally.

The junior is the defending MW indoor long jump champion. The honor marks the first weekly MW award of his career.

The Broncos will compete again this weekend at the Texas A&M 44 Farms Team Invitational in College Station, Texas, April 9-11, and the NNU Open on April 11 in Nampa, Idaho.
