ARNOS NAMED WAC MEN' FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

BOISE, Idaho On Monday, Boise State senior Zacharias Arnos became the first Bronco to win a conference award for the 2009 outdoor track and field season by being named the Western Athletic Conference Men’s Field Athlete of the Week, for March 30-April 5.

            Arnos, a junior from Nicosia, Greece (Archbishop Mauarios III Lyceum), won the triple jump at Boise State’s first outdoor meet of the season, the All-Idaho Collegiate Championships. His leap of 51-04.25 (15.65m) was good enough to earn him a NCAA regional qualifying mark. It is currently the fifth-best jump in the nation. Arnos’ mark is also tops in the WAC by more than three and a half feet.
