Broncos Picked to Top WAC in Coaches' Poll

DENVER - The Western Athletic Conference announced its 2011 preseason gymnastics coaches' poll, as voted on by the six head coaches in the league. Boise State was selected as the favorite to win this year's WAC title, earning the top spot with 23 points.
Boise State, the 2008 and 2009 WAC meet champion and 2010 regular season champion, received four first place votes for its 23-point total. Southern Utah, last year's WAC meet champion, garnered two first place votes, but ended up just one point short of BSU with 22 points. San Jose State captured the third spot with 14 points. Sacramento State and Utah State finished tied for fourth in the poll with 13 points each, while Cal State Fullerton placed sixth with five points.
The 2011 Western Athletic Conference gymnastics championship will take place at the Event Center in San Jose, Calif. on Saturday, March 19.
