Sporting News Releases Preseason Rankings

BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State football team garnered a No. 6 preseason national ranking in Sporting News’ College Football Preseason 120 Poll, the magazine announced recently.
The poll’s No. 1 ranking went to LSU, followed by Oklahoma, Alabama, Stanford and Oregon at Nos. 2-4, respectively.

Boise State has also garnered preseason top-10 rankings from Phil Steele (No. 3), Athlon Sports (No. 5) and Lindy’s Sports (No. 6).
Boise State is slated to open the 2011 season against Georgia in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game, Sept. 3. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. (MT) at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Ga., and the game will be televised by ESPN.
